Osec Short Analysis: Korea Joins 1 Trillion USD Trade Club

On 5 December Korea became the world’s ninth country to join the so-called «1 trillion USD trade club». Exports reached 515.2 billion USD while imports hit 485.5 billion USD. Korea is today the seventh biggest exporter (surpassing countries like Italy and UK with even larger populations) and the tenth biggest importer of the world. More »

Freihandelsabkommen EU-Südkorea unterzeichnet.

Die EU und Südkorea haben Anfang Oktober 2010 ein umfassendes Freihandelsabkommen unterzeichnet. Gemäss Mitteilung der EU handelt es sich dabei um das bislang ehrgeizigste Freihandelsabkommen mit einem Drittstaat und vor allem um das erste mit einem asiatischen Land. Das Ab-kommen soll ab dem 1. Juli 2011 vorläufig angewendet werden. Die Schweiz unterhält als Mitglied der EFTA bereits seit 2006 ein Freihandelsabkommen mit Südkorea. More »
