Protection of intellectual property in Russia

Although intellectual property now enjoys higher levels of protection in Russia than it did ten years ago, in practice the level of protection still falls short of the WTO’s quality requirements. A report from the Swiss Business Hub Russia takes a closer look at IP rights in Russia.

The two-page report (in German) is based on material from the conference entitled “Fighting Counterfeit: Protection of Trademarks, Copyright and Patents”. It offers an overview of how IP rights are currently integrated into Russian law, and provides tips on the kinds of precautions that should be taken to ensure improved protection of intellectual property.
